his original collection utilizes a unique mixed media combination of natural elements including recycled wild animal hides, bone, antlers and shells to present powerful spiritual images of mankind. The three dimensional painted leather images strongly reflect the artist's Cuban heritage and decades long association with the Ojibwe of the Lac Courte Oreilles reservation in northwestern Wisconsin. This powerfully exploratory series in the life, death and spiritual cycle of mankind evolved after the artist was given an Ojibwe name and guardian spirit by the late Lac Courte Oreilles spiritual leader James 'Pipe" Mustache.
